Export a presentation to PowerPoint, PDF or images

Find the export menu, choose editable or image-based PowerPoint, download PDF or PNG slides, and check trial restrictions.

Updated

Open a saved deck from your dashboard, then choose Export in the editor toolbar. Plus, Pro and Business include clean PDF, PowerPoint and PNG exports. Trial accounts can download a watermarked PDF preview.

Download your deck

  1. Open the presentation in the editor and review your latest changes.
  2. Select Export to open Export Presentation on a paid plan.
  3. Choose PowerPoint (Editable), PowerPoint (Pixel-perfect), PDF or Images (PNG).
  4. Wait for the file to finish downloading, then open it and check the slides before sending it.

PowerPoint (Editable) creates a PPTX with editable text, shapes and tables. Images remain images, and complex layouts or fonts can look different in another application. Check text wrapping and object placement in the application your recipient uses.

PowerPoint (Pixel-perfect) places a captured image of each slide into a PPTX. Choose it when you want the browser slide appearance, but the text inside those images cannot be edited as PowerPoint text boxes. The editable versus image-based PowerPoint guide explains the tradeoffs.

PDF captures the slide appearance for viewing and printing. Images (PNG) downloads one PNG for a single-slide deck, or a ZIP containing the individual slide images for a deck with multiple slides.

Use the HTML option

The paid export menu also includes HTML, labeled Interactive web presentation. This opens an interactive presentation preview in a new browser tab or window. It does not download an HTML file from this menu. If nothing opens, check whether your browser blocked the new window.

For a URL you can send to other people, use a public presentation link instead of copying the address of the preview window.

Download during a trial

On a trial account, Export opens Test the export before you upgrade. Choose Download watermarked PDF to inspect a preview, or Upgrade to Export to see paid plans. Clean exports, both PowerPoint formats and PNG downloads require a paid plan; a watermarked PDF is not an editable PPTX.

Public files in the examples gallery are sample downloads. Their availability does not unlock paid export formats for your own account.

If an export fails

Keep the deck open and try the export again. Check the browser's download controls and allow the download if prompted. For a visual mismatch in editable PowerPoint, compare the image-based option and inspect the result rather than assuming every browser layout will transfer unchanged.

If the failure continues, email support@slidesmate.com with the format you selected, your browser and the error message. See billing and cancellation if the export menu shows trial options after a subscription change.
