SlidesMate trial limits and AI credits

Understand the 7-day trial, 100 one-time AI credits, five-deck limit, export access and what remains available after the trial ends.

Updated

A new SlidesMate account starts with a 7-day trial, 100 one-time AI credits and space for up to 5 presentations. No credit card is required to start. These are separate limits: having credits left does not extend the trial or increase the number of decks you can save.

When does the trial end?

The trial runs for seven days from its recorded start time. AI access ends sooner if you use all the trial credits. Credits are a one-time trial allowance, not a monthly refill.

The dashboard trial banner shows the remaining time and credit balance. The editor also displays your credit balance. Check billing for your current plan and allowance.

Reaching five saved presentations blocks another creation or duplication even when you still have credits and trial time. It does not itself use up the remaining credits. Opening and manually editing an existing deck does not create a sixth presentation.

What uses credits?

AI actions use credits; typing edits into an existing slide does not. The current AI Prompt, Outline and Document or URL creation flows each use 10 credits for a successful full-deck generation. AI chat and inserting an AI-generated slide each use 1 credit per request. Other AI actions can have different costs, so a credit is not the same as a slide or a presentation.

Generating a draft and saving it are separate steps. A generation still uses credits if it succeeds but the new deck cannot subsequently be saved, for example because the deck limit has been reached. Check both your balance and saved-deck count before starting another generation. Do not treat 100 credits as a promise of ten saved decks: the five-deck cap and seven-day window still apply.

The Markdown editor has separate paid-plan gates for AI generation, enhancement and translation. The trial's AI credits do not unlock those actions. You can still write Markdown manually; see getting started.

What can I export during the trial?

Open the editor's export dialog and choose Download watermarked PDF to test a PDF of your deck. Clean PDF, PowerPoint and image exports require a paid plan. A trial preview does not unlock editable PowerPoint downloads.

See the export guide for the formats and steps, or compare plans before subscribing. Public sample downloads elsewhere on the site do not change your account's export access.

What happens after the trial?

Your existing presentations remain accessible. If the dashboard shows the trial-ended screen, select Continue with limited access to return to your work. You can open and manually edit existing decks; a paid plan is required to create or duplicate decks and continue using AI after the trial ends.

The end of the trial does not start a paid subscription automatically. Choosing a paid plan takes you through checkout, and billing starts when you subscribe. Clean exports require a paid plan both during and after the trial.

How do paid credits work?

Plus includes 200 AI credits per month, Pro 500, and Business 2,000. Paid plans remove the presentation-count cap, but AI requests still need enough remaining credits. These allowances are different from the trial's one-time 100 credits.

Review the current plans and billing options, or read billing and cancellation for subscription management. If the balance or access shown in your account looks wrong, contact SlidesMate support with the action you tried and the error message. Do not send passwords or payment details.
